Steps and timeframes

STEP 1: Apply 

Complete and submit the Expression of Interest form. Refer to the section Steps to complete before submitting for more information about what you need to do.

Applications close at 5pm on the 15 December 2026. Submissions after this date will not be accepted.

STEP 2: Assessment 
We will assess your application against the criteria and eligibility listed in the program guide. The purpose of the criteria is to make sure that there are good foundations in place for us (Aboriginal Investment NT and the community) to work together.

There is an internal Assessment Panel that will review information and make recommendations to the delegate. The internal Assessment Panel is made up of senior Aboriginal Investment NT staff.

We may request more information from you during this process.

 

3 months 

January - March

STEP 3: Decision  
Assessment outcomes and recommendations are provided to the delegate, the Aboriginal Investment NT Board. 

The Board’s decision is final, including any conditions or the total amount of funding approved-in-principle. 

 

2 months 

April - May

STEP 4: Outcome Notification

Once decision has been made, we will notify you of the outcome.

For selected communities, we will work with you on a Memorandum of Understanding to develop a Collective Impact Initiative Plan.

Is the Community based in the NT? * Required
Expressions of Interest can be made by an Aboriginal person, group or organisation who lives or operates in the Community. Do you meet this criteria? * Required
