Aboriginal Investment NT’s Business Grants provide funding to help Aboriginal Territorians with starting up or grow their business. The objective of our Business Grants is to increase the size, scale, diversity and maturity of NT Aboriginal businesses as increase Aboriginal employment. $7.5 million is available each financial year to support Aboriginal Territorian businesses.
Before you apply
- Check the eligibility criteria checklist, to make sure you meet ALL the Eligibility Criteria
- Complete the self-assessment checklist to see if your business is in the Start-up or Growth stage
- Get together all supporting documents needed for your application
- Read the Guidelines for more information on rules and criteria for your application
- Note you will go through two steps in the application process
Business Grants application process
We’ve changed the Business Grants application process in Round 3 to make it clearer and easier. The process now has two steps:
- Step 1: Eligibility Application (up to 6 weeks to assess)
Fill in and submit the Eligibility Application Form. Our team will assess to see if you meet all the Eligibility criteria. - Step 2: Grant Application (up to 12 weeks to assess)
If you are eligible, we will then send you the link to the application form to apply for the grant.
This way, only eligible applicants will complete the full application, which saves time and makes the process smoother for everyone.
NOTE: Only one eligibility application and one grant application is allowed each financial year
Completing your application
- On every page, you’ll see a Navigation Contents box. Click any link to go directly to that page.
- You can also use ‘Next page’ or ‘Previous page’ at the top or bottom of each page to move through the application.
Naming your attachments
When you upload documents, please give them clear names so we know what they are. This makes it easier and faster for us to assess your application.
For example:
- Quote – Equipment
- Business Account Statement – July 2025
- Aboriginal Ownership Evidence
Saving your draft application
- Save your work as you go.
- To leave a partially completed application, click ‘Save and close’ and log out.
- When you log back in, click ‘My Submissions’ at the top of the screen to see your started or submitted applications. You can reopen a draft and continue where you left off.
- You can also download any application, draft or completed, as a PDF by clicking ‘Download PDF’ at the bottom of the last page.
